Pediatric Scientific Program 2021
Department of Pediatrics of Sri Lalithambigai Medical College and Hospital organised a ‘Scientific Program on two topics. The first topic was “Introduction of World Prematurity Day 2021 with the theme of Zero Separation Act Now! Keep Parents, Babies Born Too Soon Together” and the second topic was “Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Children”. This scientific program was held on 17.11.2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm for parents and children at the third floor of the Lecture Theatre of SLMCH.
Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, President Er. A.C.S. Arun Kumar presided over the program. Respected Vice-Chancellor Dr.Geethalakshmi delivered an introductory address. Respected Dean Dr.T.Balasubramanian and Principal Dr.Sithy Athiya Munnavarah shared few words regarding child care. On the eve of Children’s Day, department of Pediatrics conducted an art and craft competition for children on 15.11.2021. Around 30-40 both teaching and non-teaching staff’s children were enthusiastically participated in the competition. The winners of the competitions were rewarded at this Scientific Program. All the winners got their prizes through the hands of Vice-Chancellor. Associate Professor and Head of the Department Dr.Suba Rajinikanth was the chief speaker of this scientific program. She emphasised the importance of Child Care and the impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Children. In the interaction session many parents asked numerous doubts regarding child care. At the end of the scientific program Pediatrician Dr.Gokul thanked all the dignitaries and the invited participants for gracing the occasion by their presence.
