The department of Ophthalmology at Sri Lalithambigai Medical College and Hospital has gained a reputation for providing comprehensive and high-quality eye care for all patients by providing free-of-cost OP consultation, community outreach camps, and cataract surgeries.
The ophthalmology department is well equipped to diagnose and treat all kinds of ocular diseases with the following
- Slit lamp biomicroscope
- Autorefractometer
- Goldmann Applanation Tonometer
- Gonioscopy
- Ultrasound B-Scan –(MARVEL)
- A scan(APPASCAN MAX)
- Indirect ophthalmoscope
Our OT is equipped with
- Zesis surgical operating microscope
- Phacoemulsification unit
Services Provided
- OP consultation – (average 1000 patients/month)
- Refraction is done by experienced refractionist
- Outreach programs screening camps for potentially blinding ocular diseases like diabetic retinopathy/glaucoma.
- Cataract Surgeries (SICU, Phacoemulsification)
- Pterygium excision with CAG and Glaucoma Filteration surgery DCR, DCT, tarsorrhaphy.
- Minor OT services (Foreign body removal/lid laceration repair chalazion I and C)
- Ocular emergency management
