World Diabetes Day 2021
On the behalf of Sri Lalithambigai Medical College and Hospital, department of General Medicine organized ‘Continued Medical Education Program (CME)’ to celebrate ‘World Diabetes Day’ and the theme of the program was ‘Access to Diabetes’. The program was held on 15-11-2021 from 11:00 am to 1.30 pm at HMCT Banquet Hall, Phase-II campus. There were 120 staffs attended the program and it started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Associate professor Dr.RavinDevasir welcomed all the dignitaries in the dais. Honorable President of Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute Er.A.C.S.Arun Kumar presided the function. Respected Vice-Chancellor Dr.Geethalakshmi felicitated the chief speakers in the dais. Vice-chancellor, Medical Superintended Dr.Senthilnathan, Dean Dr.T.Balasubramanian, Principal Dr.SithyAthiyaMunavarah and both the chief speakers has lit the lamp.
Dr.A.PanneerSelvam, Senior ConsultantDiabetologist at Aruna Diabetes Centre and Dr.Shanmugam, Head of the Diabetology department at KMC Medical College. They were the chief speakers of this continued medical education program. Dr.PanneerSelvam started his speech by explaining what is diabetes and its causes. Dr.Shanmugam has given detailed information of diabetic patient’s food routine and common myths of diabetes. In the interaction session Dr. PanneerSelvam and Dr. Shanmugam answered most common doubts of the audience. This program made everyone to realize the importance of diabetes care. At the end of the program assistant professor Dr.P.Arun Kumar offered vote of thanks for all the invited guests and the audience for gracing the occasion by their solemn presence. The lunch was provided after the program.
