Founder's Day Event 2021
Honourable Founder Chancellor of DR.M.G.R. Educational Institute Dr.A.C.Shanmugam sir’s birthday falls on 25th September is celebrated ever year in all the Educational Institutions founded by him. This year also his birthday was celebrated with great pomp and splendour at Sri Lalithambigai Medical College and Hospital. To celebrate the joy of our beloved Chairman’s birthday and to motivate the staff of SLMCH, the various cultural events were organized such as Singing Competition-Solo, Singing Competition-Group, Dance Competition-Solo, Dance competition-Group, Poetry Competition English and Tamil, and Rongoli Competition were conducted at the third floor of SLMCH building.
Our honourable Chairman Dr.A.C.Shanmugam presided over the function. Respected Vice-Chancellor of Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute Dr.Geethalakshmi inaugurated the function. Around 150 staff, both teaching and non-teaching category staff enthusiastically participated in various events. These events were conducted over two days on 21.09.2021 and 22.09.2021. All the events were successfully conducted by the guidance of Dean Dr.T.Balasubramanian, Principal Dr.Sithy Athiya Munavarah.

To celebrate the joy of our beloved Chairman’s birthday various competitions were conducted at the Lecture Theatre on the third floor of the SLMCH. This celebration was named as ‘Founder’s Day Celebration’. The Valedictory Ceremony of the of Founder’s Day Celebration was organised on 30.10.2021 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm at HMCT campus phase II. Around 125 staff were attended the program. Vice-chancellor of Dr.M.G.R.Educational and Research Institute Dr.S.Geethalakshmi was inaugurated the ceremony Vice-Principal Dr.Roopa welcomed all the dignitaries and the staff from SLMCH.
Respected Chairman Dr.A.C.Shanmugam distributed the merit certificates and cash wards to encourage the doctors who dedicatedly worked during Covid and shared few words to motivate the staff. Honourable President Er.A.C.S.Arun Kumar Presided over the ceremony and distributed the merit certificates and cash awards to the winners of Founder’s Day Celebration. The various cash prizes of the different categories of competitions were awarded to the winners of various competitions. At the end of the ceremony Respected Principal Dr.Sithy Athiya Munavarah offered vote of thanks to all dignitaries, she thanked everyone for gracing the occasion by their presence. Lunch was provided for all the members after ceremony.
